Sodium silicate, also known as water glass, is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula Na₂SiO₃. It is composed of silicon dioxide (SiO₂) and sodium oxide (Na₂O). It is commonly found as a colorless or white solid, easily soluble in water to form an alkaline solution.
