Application scenarios

Aminosulfonic acid is an inorganic solid acid formed by replacing the hydroxyl group of sulfuric acid with an amino group. Its chemical formula is NH2SO3H, and its molecular weight is 97.09. It is generally white, odorless, rhombic flaky crystals, with a relative density of 2.126 and a melting point of 205°C. It is soluble in water and liquid ammonia. At room temperature, as long as it is kept dry and not in contact with water, solid aminosulfonic acid does not absorb moisture and is relatively stable. The aqueous solution of aminosulfonic acid has the same strong acidity as hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid, so it is also called solid sulfuric acid. It is non-volatile, odorless and has low toxicity to the human body. Dust or solution is irritating to the eyes and skin and can cause burns. The maximum allowable concentration is 10mg/m3. Aminosulfonic acid can be used to synthesize herbicides, fire retardants, sweeteners, preservatives, metal cleaning agents, etc. It is a common chemical raw material.

Cleaning agent
Aminosulfonic acid cleaning agent has a wide range of uses. It can be used to clean boilers, condensers, heat exchangers, jackets and chemical pipelines. In breweries, it is used to remove scale from glass-lined storage tanks, pots, open beer coolers, and beer barrels; to clean evaporators in enamel factories and equipment in paper mills; in air conditioning, it can remove rust and scale from cooling systems and evaporative condensers;
Textile industry
Aminosulfonic acid can be used as a remover of excess nitrite in diazotization reactions in the dye industry, a color fixer for textile dyeing, and a fireproof layer on textiles. It can also be used to make yarn cleaners and other auxiliaries in the textile industry.
Papermaking industry
Aminosulfonic acid can be used as a bleaching aid to reduce or eliminate the catalytic effect of heavy metal ions in the bleaching liquid, thereby ensuring the quality of the bleaching liquid, reducing the oxidative degradation of metal ions on fibers, and preventing fiber peeling reactions, thereby improving the strength and whiteness of pulp.
Petroleum industry
Aminosulfonic acid can be used to remove blockages in oil layers and increase the permeability of oil layers. Injecting sulfamic acid solution into carbonate oil-producing layers, because sulfamic acid easily reacts with the oil layer rock, it can avoid the deposition of salt generated by the reaction. The treatment cost is slightly higher than that of hydrochloric acid, but the oil production is doubled.
Agriculture
Sulfamic acid and ammonium sulfamic acid were originally developed as herbicides. It is said that when they are applied directly to plants, they have the effect of contact poisons; and when applied to the soil, they have a male-killing effect.
